HAPPY NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING WEEK 2021!
Hi, Happy National Volunteering Week 2021! A week dedicated to volunteering and the huge impact that volunteering has on our community life. This National Volunteering Week, we’re asking people to think small! Whether it’s an action you can take to support your community like picking up litter or doing something for yourself like meditation or enjoying a hot bath, even the smallest acts can have a big impact. The last year has been hard on us all but there are small things we can do for ourselves, and for each other, that make a big difference. We’ve organised some great events for you to take part into, all focused on small actions we can all take to improve our community, check below: Spotlight event on Letter Writing A free event this Wednesday at lunchtime to introduce you to the wonderful world of letters writing to nursing homes. It’s an easy volunteer role, can be done from home, you can involve your kids and it has a huge impact to the life of residents of nursing homes During the event we’ll share with you our original idea and how to go about it if you’d like to join our venture. We’ll also get the chance to listen to the experience of Teresa, a creative volunteer who’s been sending many many letters to various nursing home.
