Community Volunteers

This month is packed with exciting events, and our incredible Fingal Community Volunteers are at the heart of it all!
We kicked off the month with the Baldoyle Biosphere Festival, a vibrant event that raised awareness of our local biosphere among school students and the wider community. Thanks to the dedication of our Fingal Community Volunteers, the event ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all.
This week, we’re proud to support the ‘Hello, How Are You?’ campaign at Heuston Station and Swords Pavilions, in collaboration with the wonderful team from Mental Health Ireland. This initiative is about encouraging people to open conversations to combat loneliness, foster belonging, and build stronger, more connected communities.
Our colleagues in Dublin City Volunteer Centre are supporting the International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFD) from 16th to 25th of May. It is a good opportunity for our literature enthusiasts to get involved.
Up next is the Fingal Volunteer Expo on 19th May at the Grand Hotel, Malahide. Community Volunteers will play a vital role in helping this flagship event run smoothly as we celebrate and promote the spirit of volunteerism.
From 29 May to 2 June, our Dublin City Volunteer Centre colleagues will be at Bord Bia Bloom 2025 in Phoenix Park, celebrating sustainability. Volunteers will support waste segregation, bike parking, the Keep-Cup reuse programme, and guide visitors through event highlights.
Finally, join us for some fun at the Safer Together Summer Festival on 14th June at Millennium Park, Blanchardstown. Community Volunteers will help run free games for attendees and support the Colour Run, which will wrap up the event in style.

Volunteer Wellbeing Survey 2025

In September 2024, together with the other Dublin Volunteer Centres, we launched a survey to better understand how volunteering impacts wellbeing.
We have received 500 answers so far but are trying to get more answers in order to get a stronger picture.
If you missed the survey last year and have ever volunteered (even for 1 day), can you please take 5 minutes to answer the survey below?
Results of the survey will be shared later in the year.

IAVE Survey

The UN has declared 2026 the International Year for Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026)—a global moment to highlight the power of volunteering in creating a fairer, more sustainable world.
To prepare, IAVE is running a Global Survey to gather insights from volunteers, organisations, and stakeholders at all levels.
Takes just 10 minutes
Available in English, French, and Spanish
Open until 25 June 2025
If you volunteer or work with volunteers, your voice matters. Take the survey and share it with others!
