June focus on: Shops and retail volunteer roles
Many charities and not-for-profit organisations rely on their retail shops to raise vital funds for the causes they support. These shops depend on volunteers to help with a wide range of essential tasks, including:
- Providing excellent customer service
- Sorting and preparing donated items
- Creating appealing window and in-store displays
- Steaming, pricing, and tagging clothes
- Tidying and restocking shelves
- Operating tills and handling cash
Volunteering in charity retail offers a valuable opportunity to develop a range of professional skills such as customer service, organisation, attention to detail, creativity, digital literacy, communication, and teamwork.
Additional roles may also be available in areas such as driving, logistics, and warehouse management, making it possible for volunteers with different interests and abilities to contribute meaningfully.

All of Fingal Volunteer Expo May 2025

The Fingal Volunteer Expo took place in May in the Grand Hotel in Malahide, as part of National Volunteer Week.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for attendees to connect with over 30 local and national charities and not-for-profit organisations from across Fingal and North Dublin. It was a vibrant space for exploring diverse volunteer roles and learning more about the impact of volunteering in our communities.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible Community Volunteers! Their enthusiasm and dedication brought amazing energy to the day. From warmly welcoming attendees and assisting organisations, to collecting valuable feedback and ensuring everyone felt supported, their contributions were essential to making the event such a success.
