Fingal Volunteer Centre – Volunteers Appreciation Evening 2025
We were delighted to welcome over 40 organisations and their volunteers for a celebratory evening on International Volunteers Day. It was a privilege to recognise the volunteers present and thank them for selflessly dedicating their time and skills to make Fingal a better place.
We also honored Brian McWeeney from Recovery Is For Everyone (R.I.F.E Fingal), who was nominated Fingal Volunteer of the Year 2025.
During the event, we presented the Fingal Managing Volunteers Award (FMVA) to six organisations that achieved various levels of excellence. Could your organisation be next? You may be closer to achieving this prestigious award than you realize! Keep an eye out for the opening of 2026 applications.

Fingal Volunteer Centre Christmas/New Year Card Initiative 2025
Our Christmas Card appeal has been an immense success, with hundreds of cards received from individual volunteers, craft groups, women’s sheds, schools, and offices across Fingal and beyond.
In total, we received 882 cards through our Library Pop-ups and postal submissions. These cards were carefully sorted and distributed to Meals on Wheels services, nursing homes, and organisations supporting people with disabilities across Fingal.
We sincerely thank all the organisations and volunteers who helped make this initiative an even greater success this year.
Reach out to us if you would like to get involved in this initiative next year!
Festival & Events Funding Scheme 2026
Fingal County Council’s Events Unit supports the planning and delivery of festivals and events across the county, working with community groups, partner organisations, and event organisers through the Festivals and Events Funding Scheme. The Scheme offers funding opportunities under three strands for festivals and events taking place in 2026.
We look forward to supporting your festivals and events through our Community Volunteers. Our Community Volunteers are trained and supported by a dedicated Community Volunteer Manager on event days, assisting organisations and community groups across Fingal with a range of event-day duties.
To discuss your event volunteer requirements, please contact us at info@volunteerfingal.ie.
*This funding is managed by Fingal County Council. Fingal Volunteer Centre has no input in it. This is for information only.
