We currently have several opportunities open to volunteer with young people. Roles vary from facilitating weekly group meet-up to befriending a individual or supporting families by providing afterschool activities. If you are interested in supporting pre-teens or teens, have a look at the roles below:

January focus 2 on: Volunteer roles in safe reintegration of ex-offenders in the community

In Ireland, several voluntary organisations are dedicated to working with individuals serving prison sentences for various types of offenses. Their mission is to offer ex-offenders a second chance at leading normal lives and reintegrating them into the communities they once called home.

Volunteers are the backbone of these efforts, and there are various types of opportunities including educational tutors who assist with literacy and learning, vocational skills tutors who teach practical trades, and mentors who guide ex-offenders through job searches and personal development.

Through commitment and dedication, volunteers offer emotional support and guidance to those navigating the challenges of reintegration. These efforts reduce recidivism and foster a stronger, more inclusive community for all.
