Fingal Volunteer Centre

Vijay, Volunteer as a Translator

What does volunteering mean for you?

It means that I feel that I am useful in life and that my life has a meaning, the fact of helping, as much as I can and seeing this reflected on people’s reaction and on their faces it means a lot to me.

Why did you want to volunteer?

I decided to volunteer because I feel life is a learning experience and I felt at the moment of enrolling that I should do it because I was meant to learn something out of it.

What was your role as a volunteer?

Translator.

What did you gain by volunteering?

Experience and knowledge about the Organisation.

What would you like to say to people who would like to volunteer? Do it! It’s an amazing experience where you can meet different people and learn a lot about others but moreover, about yourself.

Do you wish to add anything else?

Thank you
